This was the view of the side porch last week; the day we dined there for the the first time this season. We shared a pasta dinner with our friends down the street. Let's just call them the 1942 Gang.They know who they are.
While we slurped up authentic Italian sauce and munched on salad, the river churned away. Some crazy person on a kayak took this shot. Somebody needs to remind her not to venture out in such fast water.Really, if one stays to the edge and away from the current, it is perfectly safe. I promise.
Anyway. Back to the side porch.A few days later, a new phase of construction took place: the installation of the ceiling!
The LOTM stood back & exclaimed, "Happy Mother's Day" to me.
I'm good with that.
When the ceiling is finished and then painted, these terrific lanterns will be hung! Clever Tommy wired these for me last fall. They are IKEA candle lanterns with a new, more electrifying life!Won't they look lovely on the side porch??
